Here’s how to contact us
We want to be as responsive to your needs as we can be; however, we are not equipped to be immediately available for everything you may want or need. We enjoy writing our clients letters, responding to their text messages, and helping when we can. But we ask that you follow some guidelines.
Please use the online portal.
Because it is the most secure form of electronic communication, we ask that you only communicate with us electronically via the portal. The portal has a text-like messaging system that will allow us to exchange quick messages. It also allows us to share documents.
In addition, using the portal to schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments is the fastest and most efficient way to manage your appointments; there is no need to contact us directly. Because space is limited, we cannot guarantee that we can see you when you need to be seen unless we have a regular and recurring, scheduled appointment. We encourage everyone to setup regular and recurring appointments if possible.
Please do not text us via a phone.
Phone texts are not secure from prying eyes. My work phone can be texted, but we cannot receive photos or documents via text. If you choose to text us, we will text you back, but you do so with the knowledge that we cannot guarantee that our messages are secure. And we reserve the right to message back via the portal.
Please do not email us via conventional email.
Conventional email is not secure either. If you choose to email us, we will email you back, but you do so with the knowledge that we cannot guarantee that our messages are secure. And we reserve the right to message back via the portal.
Please do not use social media to interact with us.
We are always happy to hear from you; however, social media interactions are almost always “public” in some way. We cannot keep our communications secure or our therapy space private if we interact on social media, so we do not accept connection requests or requests to communicate via social media from clients.
Please give us 24-hours to respond to all messages.
Because we are a small, private practice, we cannot respond to all messages immediately, and we are often slow to respond. This limitation means that we are unable to guarantee that we can respond to you in the case of an emergency. We are not crisis counselors; the help that we provide our clients is only secured through time and hard work. If you face a crisis, you can call the Suicide & Crisis Center of North Texas at (214) 828-1000 or visit your nearest emergency room for immediate help.
Most of the crises our clients will endure during our time together is the result of intense emotion. We want to hear about those emotions, and we want to offer the help we can. We will respond to your messages when we can, usually within 24-hours.
