Group Counseling

Sometimes, you need a village.

  • Be supported

When you are going through something complicated, being supported by others who are experiencing the same thing can be hugely beneficial. Hearing another’s perspective and offering yours in return is the heart of group therapy.

  • Offer support

Although group therapy is meant to help you, group therapy also presents the unique opportunity to help others experiencing similar things. Sometimes, offering support can help you feel like your struggle is at least somewhat meaningful.

  • Heal and grow

Group therapy is unique in its ability to surround you with stories like yours, to help you grow a sense of community that is also confidential, curated, guided by a professional, and safe. Contact us to see if group counseling is the right fit for your needs.

Betrayal Trauma Group

A group for those hurt by a partner’s infidelity

Infidelity is often a betrayal. Because discussing the details with family and friends can be difficult, the betrayed partner can struggle to find a safe place to process their emotions.

This group is specifically designed to support the emotional needs of partners betrayed by infidelity. The group will offer participants the space to share experiences of hurt and vulnerability and to build necessary bonds at a time when connecting with others is inaccessible or painful.

$75 per session

This group is ongoing. Please contact us at any time to join.

Men’s Therapy Groups

For men of all ages needing a supportive environment to discuss life’s challenges

What is a therapy group? A therapy group is a group of individuals working together toward their individual psychotherapy goals. We screen and match participants based on similar ages and, thus, similar developmental/life issues. But that is the extent of our matching. The power of therapy groups lies in the differences the participants bring - unique perspectives, different struggles, shared humanity and "maleness."

Location: In person, off Boston Common, 2 Park Plaza, Suite 300, Boston, MA 02116

Cost: $75/session

Times: Evenings, currently Thursdays, 5-6:30pm & 6:30-8:00pm, new groups forming as participants sign up so please contact us to let us know what times will work for you

Demographics: All adult men are welcome regardless of sexual orientation, identity, or racial/ethnic background. We intentionally diversify the groups, encountering difference is a part of the experience. We do try to match based on age group.

Duration: Therapy groups have no planned end date, participants decide how long the group runs, or groups end when the psychotherapy goals of each participant are met

Goals: Each individual brings their own psychotherapy goals; the group will work together to define and measure goals for each participant
